So, I know I'm a few days late, but our fireworks were postponed until the 5th on account of too much rain. Here you are, though! I think this was my best shot of the night.
Ahhh I had so much fun at the fair. However, I warn you, do not buy your lemon shakeup at the vendor with the cheapest price! Gah, so I saw that the lemon shakeups were 50 cents cheaper at one vendor than the rest, so I headed there to buy it. I ordered while still staring at the sign of prices, just to look up into the faces of three creepy, dirty, sleazy, greasy looking men smiling down at me for my money. I was immediately frightened, but I figured I was being irrational. And, as I had already ordered, I went ahead and handed over my money instead of leaving to find another booth (sometimes I find it absolutely impossible to be the least bit rude). I then noticed that the man who began to make my drink had, in addition to the grime all over his shirt and arms and the simply scary smile on his face, half of his right hand was covered in bandages.. I'm now freaking out a bit, especially when the man on the far left who took my money looks down, still smiling, and says to me with his child-molester-worthy grin "I hope you don't mind if I give your change in all singles, we seem to have run out of fives and tens.." And of course, being the polite person I am, I just smiled and said oh, it's fine.. And when all this was done and they had handed me my shakeup and I could run back to the safety of my boyfriend, I figured I was probably just overreacting to how creepy they were and I'm probably going to have the best lemon shakeup ever (or at least a really good one. I've never been disappointed with a shakeup yet.) Hah, was I wrong. I tasted my shakeup and wanted to gag. I swear, they must not have put even a teaspoon of sugar in it.. Apparently their idea of a shakeup is putting a lemon in a cup with ice and water and shaking it...
Ugh, and I was really looking forward to a shakeup, too. But I guess things evened out. Later, the sister of my boyfriend's friend offered us an entire funnel cake that they had barely touched. Mmm, that, at least, was good.
Anyway, sorry for my long rant on carnies... I just had to get that out. I hope you enjoy the picture.
